PLEASE DONATE TO THE FAMILY OF DAVE POST II

IN LOVING MEMORY - DAVE POST II

Our brother Dave Post II (2/25/2000 - 04/07/2022)

The San Diego Silverbacks' organization is deeply saddened by the news of Dave Posts's sudden passing on Thursday, 04/07/2022.  Words cannot express the tremendous grief the San Diego Silverback family is experiencing over the tragedy of his passing.

The Silverbacks family was devastated to hear the news that Dave passed away when hit by a driver while changing his tire on the freeway.  As his unfortunate passing has caused severe distress and  grief, we are trying to lighten the burden on the family of any financial responsibilities they may come across. In an effort to help the family, the Silverbacks are asking you to please donate what you can. Every bit helps.

As a football team, family, and community, we mourn the tragic loss of life of our dear nephew, brother, and teammate.     Our deepest sympathies go out to the family and friends of Dave.

As we struggle to return to normalcy we will celebrate his life with all the good memories we have shared.     Please keep his mother Coretta, his father Dave, his siblings, and family in your prayers during this difficult time.  We love you Post!!!

SAN DIEGO SILVERBACKS' AUTISM AWARENESS GAME

San Diego Silverbacks Beat Short-Handed Santa Clarita Valley Tigers 37-28

4/2/2022

By Jay Tando

San Diego, CA – The visiting Santa Clarita Valley Tigers had just 14 players suited up at kickoff and were down 16-0 on the scoreboard in the 2nd Quarter before a few of their late-arriving team-mates arrived to get the roster up to 22 players - but it was too little too late as the host San Diego Silverbacks would hold on to win 37-28.

With 9:46 to play in the 1st Quarter San Diego would strike first with a 24-yard FG from Kicker Brett Reis to go up 3-0.

Then with 1:07 left in the 1st Quarter Silverbacks RB Myron Johnson-Kitchings would score from a yard out to make it 9-0.

At the 10:24 mark of the 2nd Quarter San Diego QB Mitch Bartram would tuck and run for an 11-yard scamper to snag a 16-0 lead.

But the Tigers would not quit as they rallied for a 21-yard TD pass from QB Jermel Woods to WR Vincent Strange to narrow it down to 16-6 with 6:35 to play in the 2nd Quarter.

The Silverbacks would answer with a 17-yard TD pass from QB Bartram to WR Shijuan Rogers to make it 23-6 at the 3:20 mark of the 2nd Quarter.

Then with 1:16 remaining in the 1st half Santa Clarita Valley QB Woods would find Drevante Armstrong for a 2-yard TD connection to make it 23-14 and that would be our score at the break.

San Diego RB Neiko Santana would barrel in from 3-yards out with 5:12 to play in the 3rd Quarter and move the score to 30-14.

The Tigers would hang around with an 8-yard TD strike from QB Woods to WR Strange again - this time from 8 yards out with 3:57 to go in the 3rd and make it 30-20.

With 14:15 remaining in the 4th Quarter Silverbacks QB Bartram would run it in again from 4 yards out and push the lead to 37-20.

Santa Clarita Valley would find the End Zone one last time with 8:15 remaining in the contest as RB Brian Fox Wallace trotted it in from the 1-yard line and narrowed the lead down to 37-28 - but that is as close as they would come as that would be our final score.

The San Diego Silverbacks move to 2-3 on the LDFL Spring 2022 season and clinch the #3 seed. The Santa Clarita Valley Tigers fall to 0-5 and will be the #4 seed.

SCV Tigers Lose Heartbreaker To Visiting San Diego Silverbacks 17-14

3/12/2022

By Jay Tando

Valencia, CA – The host Santa Clarita Valley Tigers saw a pass bounce off a DB’s hands right into an awaiting San Diego Silverback WR’s hands on the way to a 30-yard TD that was the difference in an exciting Defensive battle as the host Tigers fell 17-14 at home to the visiting Silverbacks.

With 6:46 to play in the 1st Quarter Santa Clarita QB Wooda Armstrong would find WR Kenny Suber from 20 yards out for a TD to make it 8-0.

Then at the 2:07 mark of the 1st Quarter San Diego QB Christian Osorio would see his pass deflect off a Tiger DB and float right up in the air to streaking Silverbacks WR Shijuan Rogers and he would race into the End Zone for the score to cut the lead down to 8-7.

With just 34 seconds left in the 2nd Quarter San Diego WR Adrian Smith would snag a 9-yard strike from Osorio to take the lead 14-8 and that would be our score at the Halftime Break.

Things heated up with 1:53 remaining in the 4th Quarter as Santa Clarita QB Armstrong would connect with WR Vincent Strange from 44 yards out to tie the game at 14-all. The Refs ruled the 2-point attempt catch incomplete in a controversial decision as the WR swore he cradled the ball keeping one hand under it and that it never touched the ground.

The Silverbacks would drive the field and kick a 34-yard FG by Brett Reis to take the lead 17-14 with just 16 seconds remaining in the contest.

But the drama was not over as a Hail Mary pass by the Tigers from their own 20 yard line was answered with a long rainbow catch going all the way down to the San Diego 35 yard line with 7.7 seconds left on the clock – but the play was called back on a penalty and the game was over on the next play.

The Santa Clarita Valley Tigers fall to 0-2 in LDFL Spring play and the San Diego Silverbacks move to 1-1. 🦍🏈

We are looking forward to an exciting 2022 Spring season.

Many of our athletes have prior experience not only in the realm of semi-professional football, but also have such great talent that they have had the opportunity to play at the championship level.

Our organization exists and functions based on partnerships with companies who provide generous sponsorships, which enables us to be the best we can possibly be. We are continually striving to be recognized as the most professional, organized, and talented developmental football team throughout San Diego County.

Our endeavors include acquiring television, newspaper, and radio coverage. Through the generosity of our sponsors, we have the ability to be fiscally responsible to our organization in order to thrive and succeed.
Sponsorships help minimize costs associated with fees for field rental, referees, practice field, uniforms, helmet decals, league association, and other ancillary costs.

The San Diego Silverbacks put forth every effort to succeed at building an exceptional organization, while partnering with our sponsors. We are an organization based on respect and integrity, that discovers, transforms, and creates a platform to showcase superior athletic talent in and around San Diego County.
