Dustin 'Blue' Shead enlisted in the Navy on January 23, 2001 from Dallas, Tx. In 2006, he began his semi-pro football career as a Free Safety for the Pensacola Wolfpac where they became the 2009 PFL Champions. Shortly afterwards he transferred to Norfolk, VA and joined the Virginia Crusaders as a Defensive Back, where he contributed to multiple MDFL and National Champion seasons from 2011-2014. In 2014, he transferred back to Pensacola, FL and lead the Panhandle Crusaders to the 2016 XSFL Championship. In 2018, Blue transferred to San Diego and joined the San Diego Silverbacks bringing energy and extra motivation to the team for both the 2019 and 2020 season. Preparing for life after the Navy, Blue has traded his helmet and shoulder pads for a coach's whistle. Coach Blue brings knowledge and technical skills support to the Silverbacks as a Defensive Back coach starting in August 2020.
